GroundTruth’s custom made Velocity Plank (also known as a Transparent Velocity Head Rod or TVHR), a calibrated perspex measurement plank for citizen science measurements of river and stream flow velocity and discharge. Dimension details: 1.1m high and 10cm wide. Thickness 7mm with reinforcement bar. The top of the tool has a handle to hold it during measurements. A lanyard has been attached to the handle to prevent the user from losing the velocity plank during sampling. In a field environment the velocity plank is solid, ergonomic, and lightweight.
